How can you tell a thrilling true story in less than 1,000 words? One-part story and one-part poem, flash essay helps you get to the heart of what you really want to say while keeping readers riveted until the final word. Learn tools to make your writing sing. You’ll begin crafting your own flash essays and will have the chance to share them aloud and receive positive feedback from your instructor and peers. We’ll read and discuss flash essays from other writers to see what makes them work.

This class is offered as part of the ninth annual Writing Retreat at Shake Rag Alley May 17-18, open to writers of all levels.
