Poetry Chapbook

What You’ll Submit: A poetry chapbook manuscript of 20-36 pages.
What You’ll Get: 

  1. A questionnaire to clarify your vision for your project, including: What do you love about your manuscript at this point? What are you struggling with? What are the most essential poems in the manuscript? What are its major themes? What are your publishing goals?

  2. Electronic line-edits and comments on the entire manuscript, including my thoughts on structure, lines and stanzas, imagery, diction/syntax, rhythm, and suggestions for revision.

  3. A detailed letter describing my thoughts on the book’s overall strengths and areas for growth, narrative and emotional arc, structure and order of poems, and recommendations for cuts or additions.

  4. A one-hour meeting (face-to-face or virtual) to discuss my comments, your questions, next steps, publishing, and whatever else you’d like to cover.  

Pricing: $600 (up to 36 pages)
Additional Pages: $18/page

Full-Length Poetry Collection

What You’ll Submit: A full-length collection of poems consisting of 48-90 pages.
What You’ll Get: 

  1. A questionnaire to clarify your vision for your project, including: What do you love about your manuscript at this point? What are you struggling with? What are the most essential poems in the manuscript? What are its major themes? What are your publishing goals?

  2. Electronic line-edits and comments on the entire manuscript, including my thoughts on structure, lines and stanzas, imagery, diction/syntax, rhythm, and suggestions for revision.

  3. A detailed letter describing my thoughts on the book’s overall strengths and areas for growth, narrative and emotional arc, structure and order of poems, and recommendations for cuts or additions.

  4. A one-hour meeting (face-to-face or virtual) to discuss my comments, your questions, next steps, publishing, and whatever else you’d like to cover. 

Pricing: $1,200 (48-80 pages)
Additional Pages: $18/page

Creative Nonfiction Manuscript

What You’ll Submit: Short or long essays, memoir, or a creative nonfiction manuscript up to 100,000 words.

What You’ll Get: 

  1. A questionnaire to clarify your vision for your project, including: What do you love about your essay or manuscript at this point? What are you struggling with? What are the most essential parts of the essay/manuscript? What are its major themes? What are your publishing goals?

  2. Electronic comments on the entire manuscript, focusing on what’s strong/where I feel most engaged, what could be strengthened/where I feel confused, structure, characterization, dialogue, narrative arc, and themes. I’ll also keep an eye out for issues with grammar, spelling, sentence structure and style, punctuation, flow, and word choice. 

  3. A detailed letter summarizing my thoughts on the book’s overall strengths and areas for growth, themes, narrative arc, structure, suggestions for revision, and recommended next steps.

  4. A one-hour meeting (face-to-face or virtual) to discuss my comments, your questions, next steps, publishing, and whatever else you’d like to cover.  

Pricing: $50 (base price) + .065 per word
