Writers' Inspiration Lab

Writers’ Inspiration Lab

FRIDAYS, January 17-March 7
10 am-12 PM CST | ONLINe

Do you long to write regularly but find it hard to do on your own? Maybe you have a project you dream of completing but never seem to find time? Part class, part accountability group, the Writers’ Inspiration Lab is a place to make progress on your creative goals in a compassionate community.

Each week, you’ll generate new work from prompts or work on a piece in progress. You’ll learn more about writing craft and process through group discussions from Writing Down the Bones by Natalie Goldberg. You’ll leave each group with inspiration and achievable writing goals for the week ahead.

I’ll also give you in-depth written feedback on one piece of your writing during the eight weeks.

Outcomes:

  • Set a big writing goal and smaller weekly goals to help you get there

  • Get compassionate support for your goals through weekly check-ins

  • Dedicate space to nurture your writing every week, whether that’s generating new material or working on a piece in progress

  • Receive in-depth written feedback from me on one piece of your writing

  • Engage in discussion about writing craft and process

A typical class includes:

10-10:30 - Group check-in and compassionate accountability for your goals

10:30-11:30 - Creative play time! Write from a prompt or work on an existing project.

11:30-12:00 - Group discussion of a book on writing.
