Listening to Land, Listening to Self
august 16-17
10:00AM-4:00PM
At the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology
What does the land tell us when we truly listen? How does a river, honeysuckle, or clear-cut forest affect our bodies and minds?
In this workshop, we'll use writing to explore these questions and help us wake up to the wisdom that arises when we listen deeply to ourselves or a place. We’ll learn mindfulness practices, including walking meditation outside, then delve into writing sessions, using simple tools to bring compassionate awareness to ourselves and our writing.
You’ll leave with the beginnings of fresh pieces and new tools to inspire your creative practice.
