FRIDAYS, MARCH 24-May 12
10:00am-12:00PM Central Time
ONLINE
Registration closes March 15th
Do you find yourself starting pieces but don’t know how to finish them? Do you have rough drafts but need support to start revising?
If you feel shaky, afraid, or confused about where to go with your writing and long for a compassionate community to support you, this group is for you! This eight-week workshop is designed for writers who are new to creative nonfiction and receiving feedback in a group setting.
Drawing on Liz Lerman’s Critical Response Process and The Antiracist Writing Workshop by Felicia Rose Chavez, our gentle, writer-centered approach to workshopping will empower you to ask for the kind of feedback you want—or don't want—to receive. You’ll also strengthen your knowledge of craft and revision tools and learn how to give and receive skillful feedback.
Who is this for?
You’re interested in writing creative nonfiction and enjoy reading it
You have at a few scraps or rough drafts of essays or memoir and want to learn how to strengthen them (you’ll have a chance to receive feedback twice over the 8 weeks)
You want to gain a basic understanding of craft and revision tools
You want to strengthen your skills at giving and receiving feedback in a supportive group setting
You can commit to 1-2 hours each week on reading and giving feedback outside of class
PAY FROM THE HEART TUITION: $100-300
Sustainable rate: $200
I offer sliding scale “pay from the heart” tuition. The price that is sustainable for me is $200.
Paying a higher price means you are supporting students who need to pay less. Paying a lower price means that your tuition is supported by others who can pay more.
Please choose the amount that best meets your circumstances and what feels right in your heart.
If you need a scholarship or a payment plan, please contact me.

CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel 10 or more days before the class starts, you will receive a full refund.
If you cancel after that time, you will receive a recording and handouts from the class (online classes only) or credit toward a future class, depending on your preference.
If you cancel on the day of the class, don't show up, or leave early, you will not receive either a refund or credit.
On rare occasions, I may need to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstances. If that happens, I will do my best to reschedule for a time when all students can attend.
