Green Words: Crafting Poetry During Climate Crisis
Saturday, April 19
9 am - 1 pm CST
Online
“Our words can be an antidote to human exceptionalism, to unthinking exploitation, an antidote to loneliness, an opening to kinship.”
How can poetry deepen our love and connection to the more-than-human world? How can we grieve the climate crisis while planting seeds of hope and action through our words?
In this class, we’ll read and discuss a wide variety of poems from writers like Ada Limón, Franny Choi, Ross Gay, and Craig Santos Perez, engage in practices to connect with the natural world through our writing, and share work aloud and receive supportive feedback from the group.
