Listening to Land, Listening to Self
JULY 27-28
10:00AM-4:00PM
At the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology
What does the land tell us when we truly listen? How does a river, honeysuckle, or clear-cut forest affect our bodies and minds? In this workshop, we'll use writing and meditation to explore these questions, and help us wake up to the wisdom that arises when we listen deeply to ourselves or a place. We’ll learn basic mindfulness practices, including walking meditation outside, then delve into writing sessions, using simple techniques to bring awareness to our experience as we write. This workshop is open to all, and perfect for those who want to bring fresh awareness to their writing and have fun in the process!
